    Through its governance research and proxy voting recommendations, ISS helps institutional investors understand corporate governance policies and practices at their portfolio companies and take these practices into account in their proxy voting. We are looking for a research analyst to join our benchmark research team, covering governance related proposals, executive compensation, M&A transactions, capitalizations, article amendments and other presented at a shareholder meeting of primarily Latin American companies, including, but not limited to, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, Brazil and Venezuela.


    Fluency in Portuguese is required. Spanish is a plus.


    • Complete basic and advanced research on corporate governance issues including, but not limited to, director elections, executive compensation issues, and mergers/acquisitions under tight deadlines.
    • Distill financial and corporate governance information and compensation data and complete written analyses detailing ISS vote recommendations and rationale based on ISS benchmark policy guidelines
    • Answer internal/external client/issuer queries on research reports and be able to discuss policy issues in detail
    • Research policy related issues and support colleagues in their completion of policy updates and related projects
    • Contribute to the research of information and the preparation of though leadership content to leverage ISS market expertise and its global footprint
    • Check and ensure the accuracy of data information used in proxy analysis reports


    • Bachelor's degree or higher, plus relevant work experience preferred in governance, accounting, law, or other corporate fields
    • MBA preferred
    • Good understanding of corporate governance issues, corporate transactions, and capital markets
    • Familiarity with companies' filings in Latin American Stock Exchanges and country-specific regulators, as well as SEC filings of Latin American companies trading in the US.
    • Strong analytical, verbal and outstanding written skills
    • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Flexibility and versatility to quickly adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
    • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks
    • Strong computer literacy with previous experience and excellent knowledge of MS Office
    • Possess and exhibit enthusiasm and interest in innovation
    • Possess a "Can Do" attitude
    • Fluency in Portuguese
