  • Overview

    Through its governance research and proxy voting recommendations, ISS helps institutional investors understand corporate governance policies and practices at their portfolio companies and take these practices into account in their proxy voting. We are looking for a research analyst to join our benchmark research team, covering executive compensation, M&A transactions, and other corporate governance issues in the U.S. market.

    Responsibilities

    • Complete basic and advanced research on corporate governance issues including director elections, executive compensation issues, and mergers/acquisitions under tight deadlines.
    • Distill financial and corporate governance information and compensation data and complete written analyses detailing ISS vote recommendations and rationale based on ISS benchmark policy guidelines
    • Answer internal/external client/issuer queries on research reports and be able to discuss policy issues in detail
    • Research policy related issues and support colleagues in their completion of policy updates and related projects

    Qualifications

    • MBA or equivalent work experience
    • Good understanding of corporate governance issues, corporate transactions, and capital markets
    • Familiarity with SEC filings
    • Strong analytical, verbal and written skills
    • Ability to work within a team-oriented environment
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks
    • Good understanding of business technology; experience working with technology in an operational context strongly desired
    • Strong computer literacy with previous experience and excellent knowledge of MS Office
    • Possess and exhibit enthusiasm and interest in innovation
