  • Overview

    ISS is seeking a temporary Global Meeting Services Analyst to conduct corporate governance data research using issuer filings, company news, press releases, news publications, and research studies and through engagement with issuers and institutions. The Analyst will also collect, translate and interpret proxy meeting documents, financial, industry and corporate governance information related to shareholder meetings, collect meeting result information, translate proxy materials into English and apply internal codes based on ISS' definitions and policy guidelines. Mandatory verbal and written fluency in Spanish and English. Proficiency or working knowledge in other languages is considered a plus, kindly make mention when applying.

     

    Our GMS team seeks to hire an analyst in Rockville, MD during the spring annual meeting season, starting in February 2019 for a term ending in May 2019 (there could be some fluctuation in start and end dates).

    Responsibilities

    The GMS Analyst position is accountable for maintaining an assigned independent workload. The Analyst will:

    • Procure, analyze, and process governance company information for US and international companies as assigned to meet stated turn-around goals. 
    • Translate and interpret issuer documents in ISS internal application. 
    • Procure, analyze and process meeting result information.
    • Validate agenda proposals and apply corresponding ISS agenda codes in database.
    • Map ISS agenda proposals to data provider feed. 
    • Ensure accuracy for translated documents, interpretation and analysis of data input on various ISS proprietary applications.
    • Monitor key performance indicators for assigned markets or products 
    • Ensure adequate audit trails for data that is received or sent from internal and external clients and production systems
    • Monitor quality control metrics to identify potential data issues and perform root cause analysis if data issues are identified
    • Participate and conducts research to support policy formulation and update efforts
    • Participate in various working committees and/or projects

    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements

    • Bachelors degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or equivalent
    • Minimum 1 to 2 years of experience in a financial environment 
    • Analytical ability and financial understanding of investment issues
    • Knowledge and experience with MS Office
    • Ability to utilize critical thinking to solve problems independently and accurately
    • Ability to work within a team-oriented environment
    • Ability to work under tight deadlines
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Mandatory verbal and written fluency in Spanish and English.
